Spring is a very popular season for weddings — and for good reasons! Not only does springtime symbolize new beginnings (making it a great metaphor for your new life together), but the weather starts to warm up without being overwhelmingly hot like the summer can be.
It’s also a season filled with gorgeous blooms in a wide range of colors and styles, just perfect for wedding bouquets and other floral arrangements! Take a look at some of the best flowers in season during spring in our list below to get some inspiration for your big day.
Flower Ideas for Spring Weddings
Roses – Always a classic choice for any wedding, roses are a great flower for nearly any type of floral arrangement or decor.
Peonies – These romantic and textured flowers are a popular choice for spring weddings, and come in a range of white, pink and red colors.
Delphinium – Another beautiful option for spring bouquets and centerpieces are delphinium flowers. One of the characteristics I love most about this flower is that there are several blooms on each tall stem, and they’re especially perfect for garden-style weddings.
Tulips – If you’re going for a romantic, yet more minimalist look and feel, you may want to consider using tulips in your floral arrangements! They also come in a variety of colors to suit several palettes and styles.
Calla Lily – There’s simply something so timeless about calla lilies, which makes them a dreamy choice for springtime weddings.
Queen Anne’s Lace – These flowers bloom starting in late spring, and are commonly used as a flower to add more texture to a bridal bouquet.
Iris – Another springtime flower is the iris, which is often comes in shades of blue or purple. However, it also grows in hues of red, white, peach, and even black!
Orchids – For weddings with a blend of the sentimental and upscale, orchids may be a great option.
Hydrangea – It’s not every day these large, round blooms are used for ceremonies and receptions, but they are a beautiful choice for springtime wedding decor!
Unique Flowers for a Spring Wedding
Some of my favorite florals to use in bouquets, centerpieces and other arrangements aren’t the most obvious ones. If you’re hoping to stand out from the crowd of other brides or want to consider more unique blooms that grow in spring, take a look at anemones, lisianthus, ranunculus or freesia flowers!
