Getting married in Kentucky? We have some fantastic outdoor Kentucky wedding venues surrounding the Lexington area.
One of the best parts about living in Kentucky is that there is a variety of places with rich history that have been turned into modern event spaces — and Castle & Key Distillery Wedding Venue is by far one of the best. Originally founded in the 1800s, the authentic limestone castle at this venue is a stunning piece of architecture that can make any couple feel like royalty on their wedding day. We love the updates they have done to the place but that they still kept the medieval vibe.
Also on site are gardens and gazebos, which are all top-notch choices for an outdoor wedding ceremony or reception. The grounds are absolutely stunning and they are prefect for portraits or family photos. And one of the best parts about this place? It’s only a half an hour’s drive from Lexington!
With over 80 acres of bluegrass, grazing horses, and and view, this serene outdoor wedding venue option is sure to please. Located in Paris, Kentucky you’ll be “just far enough” away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This venue is a favorite of mine in Kentucky. I love the all white manor surrounding by forever greens of grass and tress!
If you’d like to stay the night, accommodations for up to 19 are available, perfect after a long day of celebrating!
The Glenlary Estate is perfect for small, intimate weddings, but if you have large guest count you can also do tented weddings. Can you imagine an all white tent covered in lights on that property? Dreamy!

Previously known as CastlePost, this gorgeous outdoor Kentucky wedding venue is by far one of the most elegant and upscale wedding venues in the state, and another great indoor/outdoor option. The Kentucky Castle Wedding Venue looks like it’s straight out of a European castle magazine, complete with tall, stone-covered walls outside and luxurious decor in every room. Picture yourself dancing with the love of your life underneath vaulted ceilings during your reception, right after a beautiful outdoor ceremony on the roof (one of their most popular ceremony spots)! It’s not a favorite of mine, but if a castle wedding is your dream, this is the place!
Another outdoor Kentucky wedding venue worth considering just outside of Lexington is the Walnut Way Farm. It’s the perfect mix of Southern elegance, rustic style and an organic setting. For ceremony and reception options, couples have the choice of a barn, lakeside lawn or garden — all of which offer tons of natural light and beautiful backdrops for an upscale country wedding. My favorite reception option they offer is lakeside and garden!

"Highly recommend Roots Floral Design - absolutely beautiful! I can’t say enough good things about Kaytee and her team. The flowers for our wedding far exceeded our expectations. They were stunning and our guests raved about how beautiful the bouquets and decor were! Kaytee understood our vision and created a beautiful setting for the wedding. Last but not least, Kaytee worked well within our budget and made good recommendations. Thanks Kaytee and team!"

“Kaytee is an absolute GEM! She has so much passion and care for what she does, that you feel like she's a friend more than a vendor. She walks you through each step of the floral process with organization, examples, cost, and detail -- all things that make my detail-oriented heart happy. The end result far exceeded anything we could have hoped for or imagined. ALL. THE. GREENERY. Future brides, run, don't walk to Roots for your wedding. From start to finish, she took care of every single floral need to make our day positively beautiful.”
-Laura, Summer 2019 Wedding
"Kaytee became so much more than a vendor for us. The first time I met her I felt as though I met a long lost friend. She was the very first vendor I chose for the wedding (even before the venue) and she lived up to all my expectations and went above and beyond. Each time I met with her I felt confident that she completely comprehended my wants and would fashion them into something that looks put together, yet natural. The day-of she silently transformed a bland rustic space into an enchanting, romantic barn. I couldn't have asked for anything more beautiful or unique."
-Grace, Spring 2019 Wedding
"Kaytee was so great to work with!!! I provided her with some floral inspirations from Pinterest and Instagram but gave her a lot of free rein coming up with the flowers for our wedding and she went above and beyond expectations. Our photographer was obsessed with all the bouquets and we got so many great pictures of them! She did such a good job making my smaller budget work to make high impact arrangements. She's also the sweetest person to be around!"
